Everybody Loves Raymond Cast: Where Are They Now?

On Doris Roberts' birthday, catch up with Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Brad Garrett and the rest of the Barone family cast.

Everybody Loves Raymond key art

Today would have been Doris Roberts's 101st birthday. Born November 4, 1925, in St. Louis, she became the Emmy-winning heart (and occasional headache) of Everybody Loves Raymond as Marie Barone, the mother across the street who never met a lasagna she couldn't improve. The CBS sitcom ran nine seasons, from September 13, 1996, to May 16, 2005, and still sits near the top of almost every "best family sitcom" list for a reason: the Barones felt like family you actually know.

So where is the Everybody Loves Raymond cast now? Here's what the main players have done since the finale, with links to their pages on the site.

Ray Romano (Ray Barone)

Ray Romano starred as Long Island sportswriter Ray Barone, a role built from his own stand-up about marriage, kids and parents who live too close. He also executive-produced the series and later co-created Men of a Certain Age.

Ray Romano now

Romano has stayed busy on both sides of the camera. He wrote, directed and starred in the 2023 indie comedy Somewhere in Queens, voiced Manny again across the Ice Age movies (with another chapter due in 2027), and popped up in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman (2019). Recent TV includes Netflix's No Good Deed (2024), a recurring turn as coach Norm Stinson on Netflix's Running Point Season 2, and a lead role as widower Leo De Angelis in HBO Max's family drama How to Survive Without Me, which the streamer ordered to series in 2026. In late 2025 he rejoined the cast for CBS's Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion.

Patricia Heaton (Debra Barone)

Patricia Heaton played Debra, the exhausted, sharp-tongued glue of the Barone household, and won two Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (2000 and 2001).

Patricia Heaton after Raymond

Right after Raymond, Heaton headlined another long-running family sitcom: The Middle (2009–2018), as Frankie Heck. She later starred in ABC's short-lived Carol's Second Act (2019–2020).

Patricia Heaton now

In December 2025 she co-starred with husband David Hunt in the Prime Video romantic comedy Merv, playing Charlie Cox's parents. In 2026 she starred in and executive-produced the legal-drama pilot Public Interest, about a public-interest law firm in Washington, D.C. Off screen she co-founded Solubrae, an alcohol-removed wine brand, with Hunt. She also returned for the 2025 Raymond reunion specials.

Brad Garrett (Robert Barone)

Brad Garrett played Robert, Ray's towering, long-suffering NYPD brother, and took home three Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Brad Garrett now

After Raymond, Garrett led Fox's 'Til Death (2006–2010) and later ABC's Single Parents (2018–2020). He co-created Disney+'s Big Shot, guested on FX's Fargo, and keeps a deep voice-acting resume that runs from A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo to Ratatouille and Disney's Eeyore. His day job these days is stand-up: he runs Brad Garrett's Comedy Club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and still packs the room himself. He was part of the 2025 reunion too.

Doris Roberts (Marie Barone)

Doris Roberts made Marie Barone one of TV's great sitcom mothers: smothering, competitive in the kitchen, and impossible not to love. She won four Primetime Emmys for the role (2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005) and had already won one earlier for St. Elsewhere.

Roberts died on April 17, 2016, at age 90. On what would have been her 101st birthday, the rewatch still holds: every time Marie walks through that kitchen door, the show gets a little louder and a little funnier.

Peter Boyle (Frank Barone)

Peter Boyle played Frank, Marie's blunt, lodge-going husband and the dad who never met a put-down he couldn't improve. A Korean War veteran on the show and a film veteran in real life (Young Frankenstein, Taxi Driver), Boyle grounded the Barone chaos with a gravelly deadpan.

He died on December 12, 2006. The reunion specials made room to miss him, the same way the series always made room for Frank to say the quiet part out loud.

Monica Horan (Amy MacDougall-Barone)

Monica Horan started as a recurring guest playing Amy, Debra's friend and Robert's on-again, off-again love, then became a series regular and finally joined the opening credits in Season 9. Off screen she is married to series creator Phil Rosenthal. She returned for the 2025 reunion specials.

Madylin, Sullivan and Sawyer Sweeten (Ally, Michael and Geoffrey)

Real-life siblings Madylin Sweeten, Sullivan Sweeten and Sawyer Sweeten played Ray and Debra's three kids. Madylin (Ally) has stayed closest to the business, with later credits including a 2019 guest spot on Lucifer; she also designs for Los Angeles furniture shop The Joneses LA, married Sean Durrie in 2018, and welcomed a son, River, in April 2025. Sullivan (Michael) has mostly stayed out of the spotlight since a 2017 short film. Sawyer (Geoffrey) died by suicide on April 23, 2015, at age 19. Madylin and Sullivan honored him on the 2025 reunion, and Romano and the cast spoke about missing him.

Phil Rosenthal (creator)

Phil Rosenthal created and ran Everybody Loves Raymond, drawing on his own family the same way Romano drew on his. He later turned that food-and-family instinct into the travel series Somebody Feed Phil. In 2026 he signed with Banijay to move new Somebody Feed Phil episodes to YouTube starting in 2027, while earlier seasons remain on Netflix. He hosted the Raymond reunion with the cast.
