Everybody Hates Chris Cast: Where Are They Now?

Everybody Hates Chris ran for four seasons, from September 2005 to May 2009, first on UPN and then on The CW. Chris Rock narrated the sitcom, which was based on his own childhood, and it made stars of a young cast playing the Rock family. Two decades later, the show is getting a second life: an animated sequel, Everybody Still Hates Chris, premiered on Comedy Central in September 2024, and in 2024 Vincent Martella's huge Brazilian fan base went viral.

So where is the Everybody Hates Chris cast now? Here's what each of the main actors has done since the show ended, with links to their pages on the site.

Tyler James Williams (Chris)

Tyler James Williams played young Chris, the title role, from 2005 to 2009, and won a Young Artist Award for it in 2007. He was already a working child actor before that, with appearances on Sesame Street and Saturday Night Live and a voice role on Little Bill.

After the show, Williams starred as Cyrus DeBarge in the 2012 Disney Channel movie Let It Shine and rapped on nine songs on its soundtrack. He played Noah on AMC's The Walking Dead (2014–15) and appeared in the films Dear White People (2014), Detroit (2017) and The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021).

Since 2021, Williams has played teacher Gregory Eddie on ABC's Abbott Elementary. It's the biggest role of his adult career. It has earned him a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award and four Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He has also spoken about living with Crohn's disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2017.

Tichina Arnold (Rochelle)

Tichina Arnold played Rochelle, the family's unforgettable matriarch. She was already a TV favorite as Pam on Martin (1992–1997) and had appeared in Little Shop of Horrors (1986) as a teenager.

After Everybody Hates Chris, Arnold starred in TV Land's Happily Divorced (2011–2013) and Survivor's Remorse (2014–2017). From 2018 to 2026 she played Tina Butler on the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood, and its success led to a first-look deal with CBS Studios. She is back as Rochelle, this time as a voice, in Everybody Still Hates Chris, where she is also a producer. Off screen, she and her sister started the We Win Foundation for people with lupus in 2013.

Terry Crews (Julius)

Terry Crews played Julius, the dad. Before acting, he played in the NFL for the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers and Washington, and in Europe for the Rhein Fire. He retired from football in 1997 and moved to Los Angeles to act.

Crews has arguably had the busiest career of anyone from the cast since 2009:

• Brooklyn Nine-Nine: he played Sgt. Terry Jeffords on the Fox and NBC sitcom from 2013 to 2021.
• America's Got Talent: he has hosted the show since 2019, after hosting the spin-off America's Got Talent: The Champions.
• Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: he hosted the American version from 2014 to 2015.
• Movies: The Expendables series, Blended (2014), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Sorry to Bother You (2018).
• Everybody Still Hates Chris: he voices Julius again and is a producer on the animated revival.

He has also written several books, including Manhood (2014) and Together (2021), the latter with his wife, Rebecca King.

Tequan Richmond (Drew)

Tequan Richmond played Chris's brother, Drew. On the big screen, he also played Ray Charles Jr. in the movie Ray.

Richmond went on to play TJ Ashford on ABC's long-running soap General Hospital. In 2013 he made his Sundance debut in Blue Caprice, playing Beltway sniper Lee Boyd Malvo. He has also guest-starred on shows including CSI, Cold Case, Private Practice and Numb3rs. In the animated revival, Drew is now voiced by Terrence Little Gardenhigh.

Imani Hakim (Tonya)

Imani Hakim played Chris's little sister, Tonya. She grew up in Cleveland, and her family went through a hard stretch when they moved to Los Angeles: she and her father experienced homelessness and often slept in their car. Within months, she booked the role of Tonya.

Hakim played Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas in the 2014 Lifetime movie The Gabby Douglas Story and appeared in the films Chocolate City and Burning Sands. She played Dana, a video game tester, on the Apple TV+ comedy Mythic Quest. She is engaged to her Mythic Quest co-star Chris Naoki Lee, and they welcomed their first child, Kazuo-Marley, on February 2, 2025. Ozioma Akagha now voices Tonya in Everybody Still Hates Chris.

Vincent Martella (Greg)

Vincent Martella played Greg, Chris's best friend. Did you know he was voicing a cartoon icon at the same time?

Vincent Martella now: Phineas and Ferb and a Brazilian fandom

Martella is the voice of Phineas Flynn on Disney's Phineas and Ferb. He voiced the role from 2007 to 2015 and returned when the show came back in 2025. Video game fans know him as Hope Estheim in Final Fantasy XIII and its sequels, and he played Patrick in Season 4 of The Walking Dead.

In March 2024, he posted an Instagram photo about how popular he is in Brazil because of Everybody Hates Chris. Within a week he went from about 200,000 followers to more than three million. He then traveled to Brazil for interviews on shows like The Noite com Danilo Gentili and even appeared in a Burger King ad there. Gunnar Sizemore now voices Greg in the animated series.

Chris Rock (narrator)

The real Chris Rock narrated every episode of the original series and is back as narrator for Everybody Still Hates Chris. Sanjay Shah developed the revival, and Rock and Shah didn't want to make it without Crews and Arnold.

Is there an Everybody Hates Chris reunion?

Sort of. Everybody Still Hates Chris picks up where the original finale left off, in 1980s Brooklyn. It premiered on September 25, 2024, with a 20-episode order. Crews, Arnold and Rock reprise their roles. Because the original kids have grown up, new voice actors play them: Tim Johnson Jr. as Chris, Ozioma Akagha as Tonya, Terrence Little Gardenhigh as Drew and Gunnar Sizemore as Greg.
